One thing that is common to every shonen manga is the training arc or the exam arc (battle each other for ranks).

This volume is once again fast paced, there’s parts that I wish were more detailed and longer. The art is once again amazing, you can see that the mangaka definitely takes his time to the art work.

In this volume it is more focus on showcasing your power, skill, strategy and how well is your battle skills and it is really fun and exciting. We can see how strong the characters got and get to know and see more of their capabilities as a magic knights.

Xerc (Zora) , the youngest captain, Noelle and Fin’s little brother bothers me in this volume. In both good and bad reasons. I can definitely feel that the next volume where the real thing starts and I hope it wouldn’t felt rushed.

TOURNAMENT ARRRRRRRRRRRC!!!!

That is all.

Okay, but seriously, I am absolute trash for tournament arcs, and this one is no exception. Between the fun fights, the great character interactions, the conflicts between siblings and guild members, this is already a blast!

One moment that I loved is when Luck's team wins their fight and there's a panel where Luck and Rill are exclaiming how strong the fighters are. First off, I want to see these two square off SO FUCKING BADLY, but also I want these two to become friends. I think they would make excellent friends, considering how similar their backgrounds are, and their personalities mesh so well. Please, please let them be friends!

It was great seeing everyone improve from the last time we saw them, specifically with Mimosa, Klaus, and Magna. Mimosa especially has grown so much and is easily one of the most well-rounded magic knights I've seen. Klaus becoming physically and magically stronger was great as well. On top of that, seeing the extra team members work with each group was fun, especially Angel and Hamon. Kirsch is...incredibly special, and while I hate how fucking obnoxious and narcissistic he is, he has the skills to back it up, which makes him EVEN MORE INFURIATING.

Noelle is really showing her personal growth, having to go up against Solid and be reminded how is treatment of her. Despite this, she holds her head up high and even demands that she be the attacker. *sniff, sniffle* I'm just so proud!

I can't wait to see more of this arc! Loving this!

Welcome to the Chunin Exams, but Black Clover edition. There is a reasonably high number of new characters that are introduced in quick succession, so it's a bit difficult to keep up with everyone. It is entertaining to watch the team battles play out, though. I like that people that usually wouldn't be paired together are having to figure out how to work together. Yuno and Noelle was one of the most interesting parirings. It's reminscent of the Tenkaichi Budokai tournaments from Dragonball/Dragonball Z for me. Very nostalgic and fun. I'm looking forward to see how it concludes.
