LUI è un duca "libertino" (da intendersi che, se fosse vissuto nel nostro secolo, sarebbe probabilmente un porno-attore).
LEI è bella, ricca e zitella (E un "oscuro" passato. Ovviamente).
IO proprio non le capisco queste storie :(
Il duca deve trovare moglie perché non ha eredi, la mamma si oppone (Ma quando mai si è vista una madre che non vuol vedere suo figlio sposato?? Boh..), Tessa è una sensale di matrimoni.
Unite questi ingredienti e.. Niente, non avrete praticamente nulla.
Il duca decide di scegliere la propria donna della vita con un "concorso" organizzato da Tessa molto alla "The selection", con 24 aspiranti signorine.. Il tutto deve concludersi in una settimana, il duca è impegnatissimo a cazzeggiare, mica può perder tempo a trovare moglie! (Tanto l'amore non esiste, il suo sarà un matrimonio di convenienza per entrambe le parti).
MA! Ah! Vi pensavate fosse così facile eh? E no, dai..
Subentra infatti l'elemento di "disturbo": l'attrazione tra il duca libertino (che fa proposte indecenti eh..) e la sensale integerrima (che "Io mica ci casco nei trucchetti del duca!").
Il finale è gentilmente spoilerato nella trama ma.. Andiamo, chi si aspettava diversamente?

I have to say it because you are ALL thinking it: this book is like the historical version of The Bachelor. I wonder if that was on purpose or not but I don't think I liked that aspect of the book. On to other things, I liked the heat in this story, Ms. Dreiling did an excellent job making this story as hot as it could be.
I did not care for the drama of the girls but that is part of the courtship of the period, I assume. I also did not enjoy the pop-up confession by Tessa towards the end, I mean, I know it's a big deal back then but come on, get over it and find a new man. I am saying this as a 21st century women though. It might have been cause for suicide back then.
I will keep reading books by this author, this one was spirited, decently written, and I overall enjoyed it.

I love this cute sweet story I loved it it's very new and I loved it great story
For a Regency England version of "The Bachelor," it's not half-bad. (I only feel half-demeaned.)
