Una novela espectacular y uno de mis libros favoritos. Si bien su peak es toda la primera mitad, que considero prácticamente perfecta. El resto del libro es bastante sólido aunque eso si, se puede sentir algo repetitivo a ratos.

It’s a classic for a reason — easily five stars! What I didn’t expect was how funny it would be. The whole book is filled with wonderfully humorous and human scenes like the one where Mina and Van Helsing both try to warn the other that what they’ve discovered is going to sound utterly unbelievable only to eventually realize they both know the vampiric truth. The characters, their team up, all superb. And no retelling, to my knowledge, has captured this essence in the same way.

I enjoyed this book--it's not a new favourite but it was solid. I'm happy to learn Dracula lore and was surprised to find he was more of an off-page presence than an on-screen baddie. It really worked to heighten the gothic vibes. Despite the action scenes he felt more a metaphor of illness. Interesting, too, that all his victims were beautiful women.

Surprising little hostile misogyny with Mina Harker being a standout well-rounded character and consequently the male characters around her were heightened by association. The Renfield sections were easily my least favourite despite the fact it served structural purpose.

Amused at miyself that I was surprised to find all the stereotypical vampire things on display when this is quintessential vampire 101.

Good book, good fall vibes, and a new favourite character in Mina Harker.

Didn't catch every word as an audiobook, but by the end I was invested in the outcomes. Overall got it as a classic and did not fall in love readily with characters/plot/language. Quite long.
