I like how Mark’s choices are getting more and more intense as this goes on. Also, correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems like he… looks older in these issues? Much less young teen and more young adult. Helps me realize just how much time is actually passing in this series. Also how is he still passing his classes?? Even more lenient colleges would still be wondering about his inconsistencies.

We see the culmination of Angstrom Levy’s arc as well as a brief reveal of Robot’s arc! Very much a satisfying read to see where all these little lines are leading. I’m very invested in seeing how Oliver grows and how Mark handles his love triangle. To be clear, I don’t enjoy the love triangle, but I appreciate that it is now something in the open and not something I’m just internally having to see.

This volume left me thinking “like father, like son” but not in a bad way. Mark is just as fiercely protective of who he loves as his dad is, the only question becomes how far he will go to maintain that protection. I think he’s finding that being a hero is not all it’s cracked up to be.

In this volume, Mark protects his family and further explores his relationships. The plot grows ever more complex. Many characters that were previously in the sidelines are now becoming more fleshed out.
