This is such a sweet and charming book; it definitely gets a little sad but there’s wonderful places to contemplate the use of the English language and the strength of our words.

Was reading for a book club which fell apart. Not my kind of book so I stopped reading. Was well-written, I just didn't get sucked in.

I like this book a lot. I could tell that the author did a lot of research and put a lot of effort into it. At times I lost my enthusiasm when the plot got slow, but in the end it was so worth it. Honestly, the last quarter of the book brought it all together and was the best part. I would totally recommend this to any language nerd.

An emotional and beautiful read. An interesting perspective of the English language in the Victorian era from the female lense.
