3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I disliked the male MC greatly. My jaw dropped when he said he was 36 because that man was immature as hell.

More than 40% of the book was the main characters having sex (which I don't generally count as negative) but she would wake up find him gone, and the process would repeat over and over and over. And then, near the end he makes her feel horrible by telling her they were nothing, comes to a revelation that he loves her after a few hours, and then proposes. And she forgives.

WHERE WAS THE GROVELING

What brought the book to 3 stars was the female MC and the supporting characters.

Hoping Flynn is better than his brother

Good, but don't expect a deep connection between the main characters. It just seemed like they were together just to get off - which is how it started. But, it is a HEA so there has to be more than that.

5 wanna bet stars!!

Holy crap, I mean yah… there is usually some steam in Max Monroe’s books but sweet baby Jesus this should come with a bigger warning label than normal. There is no slow build up in this book, it starts out with a bang in that department and then the relationship builds. Jude is a fly by the seat of his pants kind of guy, live in the moment, no regrets. Sophie is more make plans to make plans to plan out the day kind of gal. However their chemistry is definitely off the charts. I loved seeing how they brought out the best in each other. Both of their families are amazing and worth every page they were in the book. When the bad part of the book came around an you knew one was coming I actually cried and had to pull myself together that’s how invested I was in these two. Don’t get me wrong I laughed a ton but man that little bit of heartbreak broke me down.

Thank you to Social Butterfly PR, and Max Monroe for the copy in lieu of my honest review, honestly I can’t wait to get to the rest of the Winslow brothers.

The Bet was Max Monroe perfection multiplied by 10.

I truly don’t know where to start because this book was everything I hadn’t expected, but exactly what I needed, I laughed, giggled, swooned, and ferverous levels of steam.

Sophie is an event planner, and her personality made it obvious that she was in the right profession. She had a plan for her life, and a tad bit obsessive about it which made me fall in love with her. You know what they say about the best laid plans…

Jude is the proverbial bachelor, he was content being single, and had every intention of staying that way, until a seemingly meaningless bet sets his best laid plans ablaze. Jude was charming, and even kind of sweet in his own way, but this man was steam personified, and that made it impossible for Sophie not to follow him into the fire.

Jude and Sophie’s meet cute was more of a “hot damnnnn” type of moment, and from there it just got hotter. It began as physical but every moment they spent together you could feel heartstrings begin to intertwine.

Gosh, I wasn’t expecting the feels to hit me so hard I’d end up with a few bruises, but alas here we are. Neither one of them had any intentions of falling for one another, but honestly, these 2 were meant to be, it was written in the stars. Jude had this ability to get Sophie to step out of her comfort zone, and you could feel her coming to life in those moments.

The banter in this is truly some of the best I’ve ever read. Not only are Sophie and Jude quick witted and hilarious, but the secondary characters are as well. I’m pretty sure every character in this book made me laugh or giggle at least once.

The Bet is a smashing introduction to the Winslow Brothers’ World. An all-consuming blend of electrifying chemistry, a panty melting hero, a sassy heroine, rife with laughter, rousing witty banter, scatters of feels, and the steamiest, steam Max Monroe has ever written.
