Funny rewrite of the Star Wars prequel as a play by Shakespeare. It Is more than fine for what it is.

Still very weird to read action scenes narrated by characters, but overall an enjoyable read.

I have to give serious mad props to Ian Doescher for the amount of times he had to watch this movie. Hands down probably my least favorite of the entire Franchise. For many reasons I won't get into here, because this isn't the platform. But, I devoured this second book. I started it on my commute to the airport, had it finished before the plan landed on my three hour flight. The only time I put it down was for TSA. That's it.

Why would make me like this movie?!

I just cannot gush enough about the amount of work that is put into this series. Iambic pentameter isn't easy to write on it's own, add on a world like this and with these characters. I mean Yoda alone, man. So also mad props for Ian Doescher staying true to not only the characters once again, but to the Bard himself. It's strongly written and with an eye for detail.

There were a few little Easter Eggs in this book that I adored. I think I chuckled for bit longer than necessary for the Pulp Fiction egg. To the point I sent it out to friends so they too could enjoy it with. There were a few other nods hear and there that was wink and nudge to the actors, and some iconic lines from other Shakespearean plays.

While this is my least favorite movie, the same cannot be said about the book. I love that R2-D2 is getting more of voice, and that no matter the form CP3O is always annoying no matter the medium it seems. And, I loved the set up with Boba Fett. A little bit for foreshadowing there as to the Bounty Hunter he'll become in the next Trilogy. Which was nice, and if that's a spoiler, we need to talk!

All-in-all I enjoyed my near three hours with this book! I've already got the next book queued up as my next bus book. I cannot wait to see how Ian Doescher write the last bit of that movie.

Buy, Borrow, Skip: Do not skip this series! No matter your level of love for Star Wars, these are worth a read. Ian Doescher is hilarious to read, you will not be disappointed.

This and other bookish goodies can be found on my blog, Bookish Whispers!
