This is my exact favorite kind of novel: a little dark and dysfunctional, characters unlikable and sometimes downright frustrating and yet I still care about them because there is just enough that's interesting about their psyches. And the writing is just good. The chapter at the beginning of part 2! That just described in the third person collective the ennui of all the people in suburbia! Plus I laughed out loud at several points.

Back on my reading grind (woooo!!) — suburban discontent, nothing makes for a better page turner… even tho nothing even really happens in this book

Three wealthy families who live in Connecticut in the early 2010s deal with relationships, health scares, childrearing, and a bizarre new age school their kids attend. Darkly funny. A bit uneven. Reminiscent of the film This Is 40. Just okay.

This os a great read with terrible characters- I fully enjoyed the writing- the concept and the irony…

The characters suck and the story is aimless, but I think that’s also kind of the point the author is trying to make with suburban ennui and all that. It’s definitely well-written - I just did not enjoy reading it lol

Couples, secrets, and a very strange private school outside of NYC.
