Okay so, I genuinely did enjoy this book. I liked the topics the main character talked about, I’m glad she addressed the whole white savior trope, and I’m glad that there was some (albeit small) conversations on both how all forms of oppression go hand in hand and also how racism is still very prevalent in certain feminist groups. What I didn’t like so much was the fact that these topics that I personally feel are important to speak on were definitely just touched on and moved past, at least in my opinion. I also don’t typically love YA so the general tone was not my favorite. However I do think this is a great book, especially for younger people to read to kind of recognize these points in feminism and rape culture that the book talks about.
WOW! This book really is a must read for everyone-especially for moms with daughters.
I have always been a huge fan of Candace Bushnell and was excited to see another YA title from her. I had no idea how powerful this book would be. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. It really made me think about our twice about our society and the whole "my word against yours" and what constitutes as proof. It has really stuck with me, and made me think.
This is one I would like to try and read with a book club of my high school students.

Než jsem začala číst Pravidla pro holky procházela jsem si počáteční čtecí krizí, ale z toho mě vyléčila právě tahle kniha a naprosto mě dostala. Líbilo se mi, že vlastně i když pravda vyplula na povrch, tak hlavní hrdinka úplně nedostala takový typický young adult konec, který je typický, ale dostalo se spravedlnosti a viník byl potrestán.
