STRONG 4.5 stars. I loved watching the main character's journey as she came into thinking for herself and acting in accordance with her values and just owning it. This is what teen girls need to be reading! The message is empowering for sure.
(+) Loved this book! Reminded me so much of Moxie. Was such a fast read with extremely important messages.
I didn't expect much of this book when I first picked it up, and as I didn't read the book blurb at first, I was a bit surprised at the turn of events - but that only made me enjoy the book more!
Usually, I can't focus on audiobooks, but somehow I could with this one. Maybe that's because of how important the subject is? Definitely a book I'll recommend, it's worth reading!

Má to hodně feel Holly Bourne, i když je to trošku sluníčkovější. Autorka nejde moc do hloubky a přála bych si, aby to bylo víc o zneužívání (ježiš to zní blbě) a více o revoltě ve škole, jako slibuje anotace. Nicméně se knížka příjemně čte, hlavní hrdinka Marin je parádní a vy jí chtě nechtě budete fandit. Pokud jste navíc příznivci knih s tématem feminismu a girl power, moc doporučuju.

I knew I loved reading Bushnell's writing, but I was not prepared for this. I read the entire book in a day! That says a lot. I love how realistically this book handles situations of sexual abuse from someone in a position of power. The main character shows how conflicting it is to make a decision, and how any decision regarding moving forward after abuse has its own set of consequences. Young women need to read this. They deserve to be empowered by more texts like these.
Pravidla pro holky jsou skvělou „jednohubkou“ pro někoho, komu se líbil film Moxie (Ranařky) na Netflixu. Autorky zde pracují s tématem feminismu na střední škole, s překročením hranic mezi učitelem a studentkou, a zároveň se drží toho, aby kniha pořád působila víceméně feel good dojmem, se kterým je dobré počítat, abyste nebyli zklamaní, že třeba nedostanete tolik heavy knížku, kterou byste třeba podle anotace mohli očekávat. Nejde tedy o žádný extrém v tomto tématu, kterým mohou být třeba Holky odnikud od Amy Reed.
