space opera reminiscent a bit of ‘enders game’ with a protagonist that goes through a pretty significant coming off of xenophobic fanaticism. the story narrative was great, though you could see a fair amount of the plot coming well ahead, and the cast of characters were engaging. had a bit of a hard time with the late stage turn to evil villain one of the characters does, as it just wasn’t believable for me. but otherwise this is a pretty gripping book, especially as an audiobook!
