I read this for the "Story Takes Place On A Form Of Transportation" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was funny and clever and beautiful and witty and everything one hopes from Gaiman.

Lovely and gruesome! I really like Gaiman's shorter work, I've never made it through any of his novels.

This is my least favorite of Gaiman's books. I hate the illustrations, I'm not entirely fond of the text, I don't always think it makes sense. I'm reading the other reviews for this books and wondering if maybe I got some sort of weird copy? Are we really reading the same book?

Einer der abstruseren, düsteren Titel. Ein Alphabet mit... unschönen Erklärungen. Nicht wirklich für Kinder zum Lernen geeignet. Muhaha.

As much as I relish Neil Gaiman's stories, I purposely had to own this little gem because of the illustrator, Gris Grimly. His twisted and creepy illustrations for children's books grab me like the works of Charles Addams and Edward Gorey always have.

Oh! and NG's tale is lovely as well.

I really like it, but it's too old for T.

My favorite author, and one of my favorite illustrators. Definitely not your traditional alphabet, so if you're actually trying to teach the alphabet to a child I wouldn't recommend it. Like Gaiman and Grimly's other works it is not for the faint of heart and is a bit grim and gloomy. The detail of the illustrations is beautiful and the adventure is enticing.
