Hi, my name is Stephanie and this book wrecked and ruined me. I thought that nothing would surpass my love for Shiloh and Brody and Emery was basically like "hold my book" and then delivered the utter broken perfection that is Evie and Ridge. The LOVE that I have for these two. This story....I'm not sure I'll ever recover and I wasn't ready to say goodbye to them, even though their ending was one for the books.

I actually finished this book last week and I had been putting it off and off because I knew it would just be IT for me....and here we are. I'm still thinking about it and don't know how to recover. I guess it's a good thing that we have a second gen book coming because I will never be ready to say good to them.

But honestly....Ridge and Evie for life! <3

Thank you Emery for creating this world that I have absolutely fallen in love with. My poor husband has been listening to me go on and on and on about this series for months now...because I've been strategically spreading them out. And now it's over and I'm dramatic haha.

Another banger of a book!!

When Wrecked Meets Ruined follows the romance between Evie (Quinn's best friend) and Ridge (Brody's younger brother). It is technically a standalone, but I recommend reading the previous books before reading this one. In addition, some of this book overlaps with the timeline of book 3 (When We Were Reckless).

Ridge and Evie share a lot of similarities, they both have drug addicts for parents and were raised really rough. Ridge however, got out of that situation when he was 17 (I think he was 17) and lost his mom, leading him to move in with Brody. Now Ridge has a lot more stability and something to look forward too. But Evie is not so lucky.

Evie was ready to leave the town behind her, but when her mom gets pregnant, Evie knows she must do everything she can to protect and basically raise her little sister. And because life keeps throwing her constant curve balls, Evie does everything she can to not let Ridge get to her. He is a jock and Evie has been there, done that, and does not wish to return to that. Which she does good, until she finds out he knows most of her secrets. This is because of a pen pal relationship that was set up via their high school teachers. Evie did not know she was talking to Ridge, but Ridge knew he was talking to Evie. This leaves her feeling vulnerable, but ultimately because the two have crazy chemistry and shoot for a "friends with benefits" kind of relationship. No harm, no foul. They can just have some fun together.

Things end for them pretty badly when Evie is attacked and decides to let Ridge go and live his life out. Ridge is going to be a D1 athlete and Evie doesn't want to feel like she is holding him down from his success.

Some years pass and they both try and move on, but can they really when their hearts belong to another.

This series has me in a chokehold. They all feel very real and will definitely put you in your feels. I really loved how fast paced these were.

Evie and Ridge made me feel so much heartache and happiness. Wrecked and ruined indeed.
The writing is really beautiful, the story is heart wrenching, raw and also bewitching.
It’s a raw, unflinching look at two very damaged and tormented people who recognize it in each other.
They are both extremely stubborn and they love to taunt and tease each other.
Evie and Ridge are both so resilient, headstrong AND they have inner beauty that’s so incredibly endearing.
They are two halves of one soul kind of love.
It’s not usually pretty, however the moments that are made my heart flutter and I was giddy with so much happiness for them.
Their chemistry and next level connection is undeniable and incredible.
Their journey is full of difficulties and heartache. Their story spans from high school to their mid 20’s, most of the story being in their younger years.
It is more than worth the very poignant ride.
I loved this story and characters so very much.

Wrecked, I'm wrecked. Emery Rose has totally destroyed me. Reading this book was like riding a rollercoaster to the highest point with so much joy and then dropping off, straight down into a dark pit. Gah!!!! The emotional swirling in my soul to get to the end...Wow...Rose knows how to write the angst.

Ridge and Evie are oil and water, but also so alike, it makes it almost impossible to be together when they know every dark secret and crack in their armour. Prideful to the extreme they both don't give an inch, but their circling and eventual pull to one another just can't be ignored, but when tragedy strikes their attraction just isn't enough to keep them together.

They burn when they are together, but they also burn when they are apart. Up and down their lives intertwine with the other McCallister's, which make their lives even more complicated, but can they coexist in a world where they might not be everything to each other?

This book covers several dark topics and is super angsty in the best way that each McCallister book has been in this Lost Star series. My favorite part as this series has grown is Noah, Brody and Lila's son. He always offers up the best advice, coming from a child of all things, and if he ever does get his own book I can only imagine what his love interest will think of his sage wisdom.

Ridge and Evie

Ridge and Evie both had to grow up when they were so young. Ridge lived in Chicago with his mother when she passed away from drug usage. He then set out to find his older brother that was mentioned in passing, Brody. Evie grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and is now taking care of her little sister while her mom pays no attention to them. Things go from bad to worse in Evie’s life when ridge goes off to school, so she runs away without a second thought.
