My favourite author does it again.
I love the way Emery Rose tells stories over time. You get the teen heartbreak and angst and all the reunions down the road you can hope for.
Ridge and Evie's stories are as heartbreaking as they are beautiful and I already know will be characters I think about in the future (just like my favs, Shiloh and Brodie).
I love a good coming of age, adolescent frenemies, angsty love story and this one is top tier.
My only complaint is that there are now again no new Emery Rose books for me to read. Thankfully, I can relive them on audible.

WWMR was such a heartbreaking read. Evie was just "chefs kiss" and I loved everything about her, even if she had to go through some of the worst times to get to be person she is today. I never once considered her and Ridges relationship to be toxic or a waste of time. It was always just a wrong place wrong time type of situation. Just like every other McCalister, Ridge was his own kind of special. He aged rather nicely I thought

When wrecked meets ruined… I mean the title sums it up almost perfectly. Here you have a boy who’s life has been nothing but one disaster after another. So much heartbreak and loss for the short life he’s lived. Landing in a new town with a new family he knew nothing about before now, he keeps his walls up to keep that secretly huge heart of his from getting hurt again. Then there’s the girl. She’s full of fire and determination. Strong willed, independent, and a mouth as smart as her brain. After being burned one to many times she doesn’t trust anyone but herself (ok and maybe her best friend Quinn but definitely no one else).
These two strong personalities collide and the game begins. They bicker and tease like they hate each other, but as you know, there’s that fine line there that’s so easy to trip over. And one day a pact is made for a summer fling that changes the course of their lives forever and that line gets crossed.
They fall hard and they fall fast, opening their hearts to allow only each other in. Just when they’ve conquered the obstacle of each others hearts a new one takes its place. One that leads to the biggest obstacle they will ever face.
This couple goes through so much in both a short and long amount of time that you can’t help but get invested in where they wind up. Ridge is so much more than what he lets people see, and he will just waltz his cocky self right into your heart and refuse to leave. Evie is the girl you cheer on for being so tough, but you also want her to be able to be vulnerable with someone. To live her life for her and not someone else for once.
