It was fun to get back into Pug's world after a long hiatus, but things are getting a bit too complicated now - it's no longer a relatable tale about boys becoming men; it's about gods fighting other gods, and rather than the fall of cities, this was destruction on a planetary scale. Farewell Kelewan. I'll probably feel a sense of relief when I get to the final book.

Extremely clumsy and messy, and sees many of the new characters in this trilogy or the previous one reduced to mere cheerleaders for the major players - which will be frustrating if you cared about them, and if you didn't it'll probably make the time dedicated to them in earlier books even more annoying in retrospect. This was is a stunning conclusion to the Dark War Trilogy that is filled with action, suspense, tragedy, humour and hope.
The mysteries, plots and subplots of the previous two novels were all neatly resolved in a satisfactory and fulfilling manner together with the truth about Nakor being finally revealed.
The final battle and its conclusion could be quite mind-boggling to try and visualise because of the sheer scale and scope of the events being described, but it is written so well that I had no problems in doing so.
A must-read.

Oh my goodness are you freaking kidding me?!?!?!? Some trilogies end with a bang. This one? An explosion - bang isn't nearly enough. Feist ties so many things together to bring us to an epic conclusion here, and yet, leaves one little but significant thread to indicate there is more to be learned, more to occur, drawing us to the next books in the series. But THIS trilogy, wow, what an ending. I'd give it six stars if I could.

I have been Buddy-Reading this series over the last couple of months with a ‘book-club’ friend who had not read Raymond E. Feist’s work before. As I have been a long-time fan of his work, I have compared it to The Lord of the Rings books but have actually enjoyed this series more. When I mentioned this to my friend, she immediately wanted to read the series, and convinced me to read them with her- not that it was a big ask 😊.
It is an epic fantasy saga- with wonderful world building and scene setting, and dynamic, vivid and detailed descriptions that will transport you right into the story.
Take some time to explore Mr. Feist’s work, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed- and the best part is that all the books are available now to read- no waiting for books to be released! #WINNING
