Pretty much all of my criticisms of the first book also apply to this one, especially in regards to the main character. I found her unlikable in this yet again. She’s rude to everyone and is always opening her mouth to say some dumb stuff that pisses everyone off and constantly shoots herself in the foot. It’s a miracle that any of her “friends” still have a shred of goodwill toward her.

I found the villain much more interesting this time around, being that he’s a four year old boy with a unique ability as opposed to just some guy with the same ability as the protagonist. Points for actually having something of a dialogue between the protagonist and the villain as well, which is something I criticized the first book for. As in the first book, the action scenes are well written and Ford is good at keeping you reading on to the next chapter by ending them on cliffhangers.

Lot of dialogue that doesn’t go anywhere and no real likable characters. Everyone is very cold and emotionally distant. And that ending - talk about absolutely no closure. Everyone is back at square one, save for the protagonist doing a little bit of self discovery.

It has moments where it shines but overall nothing blowing me away. Sorry Mr. Ford. You have an impeccable music taste, though.

The story is a fast paced action ride like the first in the series.  If you liked that one, you'll enjoy this one.  The pros, same wit as the first, same action as the first and a growing mystery in the background.  The cons, the characters seem to all be pretty one note, Teagan gets more depth but the surrounding cast of characters in her life are pretty one dimensional, and the biggest con in my mind was my edition had more typos than I've ever seen in a book, seemed as if the editors had simply skimmed the book and sent it to print, very disappointed by that but looking past it the story itself is a fun action romp and I will definitely keep reading the series.
