I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This series is so wonderfully brilliant. I was going to say joyful, but it seems wrong to say that about a book in which so many people are killed by a child! We get more of Tegan's brand of sarcasm and sass, and a super-smart 4-year-old trying to destroy the planet. What more could you want?

The science behind the earthquakes and how Matthew pulls off what he does is really well laid out, and feel realistic (well, assuming you believe someone could have his powers!). I like that we see lots of experts too, as well as lots of locations.

This book also keeps the high octane feel of the first and throws Tegan and the China Shop team into ever more dangerous situations. I love a good action-movie book, and this fits that bill to a tee. We also get to see Tegan learn to interact with her team better than in the first book, even though there is some aftermath dealt with. I like that it's not just simple and that everything has consequences. In fact, the first thing in the book is Tegan being accused of murder, and we get to see how the team deal with it. The complexities of the relationships there are just wonderful.

One of the things I am most intrigued by, however, is the coming backstory around Tegan's family. Book three really looks to be kicking that off and I am THERE for it.

Pure fun from start to finish. 4 stars.

What a disappointment. Pages wasted on a dinner party, that really had nothing to do with the main story line. I actually found myself bored about midway, just kept reading to see how they would try to pull it all together. Again, a bit unbelievable how things get tied together. Doubt that I want to continue with the series
