the plot line is groovy. who is bad guy? why heartbreak? my poor liam? was that needed? the league? gray? gta? woah.
this was faster paced, at least in my opinion, than the first book - which i much preferred !! however, the whole series is quite fast moving i think.

A good sequel to a really good dystopian story. I was more engaged with the first book, but Never Fade was a solid continuation and it had some heartwarming AND heartbreaking moments. The ending made me really want to finish reading the trilogy asap!
Gripping, intense, action-packed, and thrilling. The book would have been shorter. There is a lot of information that wasn’t needed to be included. The ending was a cliffhanger. I might read and finish the series this July, but who knows lol

It is weird that they decided not to have Zu in the sequel. I guess I see why they wanted the possibilities of a chatterbox like Jude rather than a mute like Zu but it is still weird to be all “we’re getting the band back together,” when one of the band members is very conspicuously... not there.

This book felt like a stepping stone. The beginning was slow paced, then we got to the road trip section and although the plot picks up its pace there, it’s still pretty slow and there’s a lot that can be deleted without much affect to the story. The ending sorta felt rush, not while reading it, but when you think about how much happened in x amount of pages, it’s a lot. I wasn’t as invested in the characters this time around. Vida and Jude are a good addition, but I’m not dying to have em be in the next book. Chubs and Liam are more side characters this time around than part of the actual ensemble, which is a shame since chubs’ personality within the group was really grounded and needed.
One of my favorite things about this series is undoubtedly its characters. I truly love going through stuff with them and empathising with them. It's been interesting to see the development of the relationships dynamics between Ruby and herself and the others. The new characters have been incorporated nicely and are already in my heart.
I read while simultaneously listening to the audiobook, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I look forward to reading book 3 and discovering what's next.
