This series is by no means one of my favorites. But Netflix recently released the TV show and I kind of want to read the books before I reach that part in the show. I have previously seen the movie so I had an idea of how this was gonna end. I enjoyed it as much as I thought I would. I still have the same issues as I did in the first couple books. I really don't like how this book defines words for you, it grates on my nerves. None the less though I will continue to slowly make my way through these books.

I never thought I was going to meet someone more blind that Dora the explorer, but then I meet Mr. Poe.

This would be the end of my movie lemony Snicket knowledge, excited to continue the series kind of as a blank slate. Josephine is by far my least favorite of the guardians. She literally was totally down to pawn off the children to count Olaf just because she was scared….

Edit: My rating for all of his books will be changing to 1 (since there's no 0) since I recently learnt he was problematic and he has sexual misconduct allegations against him (google it or here's a link talking about Sexual Misconduct in Children's Book Publishing

So now I can see that these books have a formula but their still fun. I swear I'm not a sadist.

I miss Uncle Monty..

The adults in these books are just ridiculously dumb.

Also I love the added mystery on the tv show!

3.5 stars!
