This book, alongside with the previous one by Loish, just arrived on my doorstep yesterday and I quickly dived into it. Having missed out on the previous Kickstarter campaign, I am so very glad and elated to know that I can obtain two books by backing the campaign for this one. Yaay!

If the previous book helped me understand Loish's mindset in terms of evolving her art style and creating artworks, this book really helped me understand her process from scratch. It really opens my eyes on why Loish is so amazing and popular—she is just relentless when it comes to illustration and design! She shares a lot on how she works and what she feels is important in improving her work and staying at the top of her game. Really inspiring!

Can I just say, by the way, how much I love her concept for Departure? I feel like it's a storyline that encompasses her style very much: hair, water and somewhat surreal settings. I love that she uses all three elements in their own unique ways! It really shows how she develops an idea and turn it slowly—keyword here, really—into a final product. Keeping all options open, it really shows the kind of out-of-the-box artist she is. Personally, I would vote for Departure to come out as a game.

Personal favourite, by the way, is the tutorials section. It will completely change my game! Her way of looking at how to create a digital illustration is entirely different from my view of it. It will save so much of my time thinking about what's essential and focus my energy more on creating the end product. The speed painting tutorial will most likely get me more willing to try out this style of creating a rough artwork.

In conclusion, top notch! She definitely topped herself with this book!
