This was a *fine* thriller. I much prefer some of John Marrs's other works, particularly his psychological thrillers, and I was bound to come across one that just didn't strike my fancy. This was it. A true police procedural with far too many storylines, this seemed more like something you'd pick up at the grocery store checkout line in a declining beach town on vacation with family you don't really know or like. It'd be perfect for that situation, or really any scenario in which you just need *something* to avoid discussions with people you detest.

This was another great read from John Marrs! I really enjoyed reading this book & was intrigued the entire time after about 50% through it, I did not want to put it down.

Did not expect to enjoy this thriller as much as I actually did - I read some reviews prior to reading it, so my expectations were much lower, but I loved how unapologetic John Marrs has been when writing his plot, unafraid of killing his darlings. I cannot remember last time I gasped out loud for a turn of events. I did forsee some of the elements, but not the key points, so that was really good. Really liked the characters and their dynamics.
