This is a novella and it shows — a fair amount of telling and a bit of a sense of a larger story condensed. That said, it’s a good, slightly creepy folklore haunting green man story (with a sweet little thread of romance) and I enjoyed what there was — but I’d have liked even better the longer version where we get to see all the good bits instead of hearing about them after.

I loved this book so much it was beautifully written and narrated but I wish it was longer!!
[4.25] This book felt like a hozier song but also like a fairytale. Very much a fast and intriguing read.

Ok this is...perfection. In just over 100 pages, Emily Tesh managed to make me feel so connected to the earth and to these characters that I felt like I had read this over the course of a lifetime. This was so good!

I liked this! Actually stayed up a little longer than I should have to finish reading it because it got suspenseful on me and I just had to know. Anyway, it’s short, but effective. I think I needed that. Interesting world and characters. I’m definitely picking up the next part in this duology (as of right now), and will go into that also not really knowing what awaits me, but hopefully characters that were introduced here.
