this was so lovely. I think I read Drowned Country first and I must have recorded that reading in my journal before this one? 8/10 for sure recommend

A great good little novel. It moves quickly but nothing is wasted. I did want more development for Tobias, but I think he’s a 400-year-old man and this was a glimpse at a year in that long tenure. I’m excited to read the second one.
I often like books. I sometimes adore them. It is very rare for me to finish reading something and think: I wish I had written it.
It's a strange type of liking, it's when a book swallows me whole and it's so terribly aligned with everything that I could wish it to be that it's almost like the author was reading my mind.
I was absolutely bewitched by it.
I'm sorry that it's Emily Tesh' s first and only book (for now) and I sincerely look forward to reading something else from her.

This book delivered all of my favorite things and I'm going to think about it forever

This novella has been in my tbr stack FOR YEARS after I heard about it briefly from some corner of the internet. It did not disapoint. Oh my god, it is so short and so beautifully written. I love Silver and Finch so much. I'm not usually one to enjoy a book with a happy ending but I was all in on rooting for these two. It's hard to write such a short book and be able to have a reader establish an emotional connection and investment but hey, it worked on me!
Atmospheric, like a long walk through woods that make you forget that time exists. Romantic storyline though the MCs are not together for a lot of the book. Features a badass mother, one of my favorite character types. Sorry to say that the guardian of the woods, named for a small bird, with disdain for human hunters, would own that notorious predator of small and helpless forest beings--a CAT-- but I'll suspend disbelief I guess.

Silver in the Wood was a very pleasant way to spend an hour. It’s a very quick book with endearing characters and a healthy dollop of whimsy. Great for someone in a bit of a reading slump because it’s not gonna take up much of your time, but it will (probably) make you smile.
