a cute queer story, gorgeously described forested environments, lovely bits of folklore. great quick read, and the audiobook is excellent.

I loved all fae and mythology and green men and how connected to nature this book is. The writing is very good and has an almost magical feel to it. I loved Tobias and Silver's relationship. It was very sweet and cute and I wanted more of it. It was very quick though. Even though it's only short the story felt too fast paced, and I wanted more explaining throughout. This is book 1 in a duology but the way it ended made it seem like a standalone, so I don't know whether to read the next one. Everything felt wrapped up and tidy.

Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh

Is peaceful.

I greatly enjoyed Tesh's writing and the magical world they created. I liked that we were just dropped into it and slowly learnt more and more about each character and their special nature.

The lovely twists and turns made it interesting without it being overwhelming or anxious. Instead it was just a cozy calm queer story with a mystical pagan magic and naive men.

This book is for anyone who enjoys cozy mythical books.
