Book 200 of this year! And it was worthy!
Lovely, gentle (maybe too gentle?) fantasy romance novella full of folklore and greenery. Very seasonally appropriate.

This novella had big folksy cottage-core vibes and I was here for it.

Even though it’s incredibly short, I don’t have the desire to read and finish it. Not for me even though I was excited for the Green Man Myth.

4.5 here i was thinking that i’d never find a duology of novellas that i loved again after a psalm for the wild built. i stand corrected.
A fascinating, spellbinding and very atmospheric novella. Definitely recommend if you're into folklore, magical woods, and things that go bump in the night.
“The Green Man walks the wood,” he tried explaining. “But the wood remembers.”4.5 stars. This was such a beautiful, gorgeously-written, atmospheric little novella and I completely devoured it. It's cosy and whimsical at the same time that it's dark and foreboding, and I love all the thought and culture and folklore that went into this. There's something magical in and of itself about a story that takes place around a forest, never mind one that is part way enchanted, part way haunted. I really loved both Tobias and Silver, and the ways they both changed throughout the course of the story. It's the kind of change that strikes you in obvious and subtle ways; creating something lovely from something ugly. The romance was the sweetest thing ever, completely satisfying, and just really melted my heart.
Listened to the audiobook as read by Matthew Lloyd Davies, and I love his voice as I always do. He does great work with accents, and creates the sombre and hopeful and magical tone that was completely right for this story.
Very much recommended.
