no.

no no no no no no no good gods no.

If you have noticed my recent books, they are all about romance. I like a boy (disgusting) and he's making me be a sappy typical teen that likes a boy and that's disgustingggggggggg ew (is it obvious i thought i was a lesbian until this man came around? yeah, am i used to liking a guy? absolutely not, it's weird, im getting used to it) ANYWAYSSSSS, because of this man Im very into romance now bcs i crave it so I decided to give Richard Siken a chance... 5/5 stars, brilliant, love him. Then I said, Neruda, no. Then Lang Leav...

NO NO AND NO.

I'm sorry but from all the poems I liked like 4. Some of them were just so... badly written? Idk how to explain it but they sound as my 5th grade class writing poems. Don't believe me? Please, try to guess which two are from the author and which two are from my friend who was a kid when she wrote these:

1. “He and I
When words run dry,
he does not try,
nor do I.
We are on par.
He just is,
I just am,
and we just are.”

2. "You play the guitar,
which is very impressive to me
because i can’t do much;
but if you ever give me a chance,
you might like me back."

3. "I see your smile walking down the hallway,
and my senses my betray me,
but I'm ready to write an essay,
on how much want to kiss you
under the lime tree
until we stop having senses. "

4. “Before I fell
in love with words,
with setting skies
and singing birds—
it was you I fell
in love with first.”

You might disagree with me but I see them quite similar, and it's sad bcs the author had 33 when when wrote the book, my friend was 11, ELEVEN.

Anyways, yeah, sucky book, I'll only give it 1.5 stars because the poem Closure made me realize i was an asshole with my ex.

I think this was a beautiful read. She puts together, very accurately, the roller coaster of love. I think this is a wonderful book for those experiencing their first love or heartbreak.

'Love & Misadventure' by Lang Leav is a book of modern poetry and short essays about love, loss and learning to love again.
The book is divided into three sections: Misadventure, The Circus of Shadows, and Love. Each section has poems and short essays about the theme. A hauntingly beautiful illustration by Lang Leav is placed at the start of each section to draw you in.
The poems were simple and raw. They were artistic and understandable at the same time. They were short, powerful and flowed quickly.
It felt like the short essays interrupted the flow of the poetry. They were interesting to read, but I think they should've been in a book of their own.
The illustrations were beautiful and haunting. I wish I could've seen more of Leav's intriguing illustrations.
It was a quick, but meaningful and memorable, read.
I recommend this book for anyone who loves poetry. I also recommend it for anyone who wants to get into poetry but doesn't know where to start.

LOVED IT! So relatable if you've ever been in love or in heartbreak.

That was sweet, but maybe a little too sticky. Didn't inspire much heartbreak. It felt a little juvenile. There is better poetry out there, but this was nice enough. Review to come.

It wad so beautiful. Every page was full of emotions. I felt them while reading those words so beautifully crafted and put together. I cannot think of any other adjectives to describe it besides beautiful and amazing. I was so into it that I didn't realize that I have reached the the end. I suggest that everyone read it. Truly amazing!
