Favorite poems from the collection is Lost things and Sundays with Michael

Not all the poems are worth reading. I particularly enjoyed the stories more than the poems themselves. I would say it's an average poetry collection. Though I'm no expert in poetry, you may read and decide for yourself. Because everyone interprets poems in their own way.
A poem gets meaning from its reader

lighthearted fast-paced

Calling this tumblr poetry would be an insult to tumblr.

Such a lovely read!

⭐️⭐️✨ 2.75/5

I really expected more of this to be free verse than it was. The strict ABAB rhyme scheme was crazy. It makes them feel like nursery rhymes, but in an unpleasant way. I found myself liking the poems where Leav allows her writing to just flow and be much better. The strongest part of the collection for me was the misadventure section, and it is in this section where there are the most poems that are little observations turned into moments of discovery. These poems are little truths about human nature revealed through a habit of counting down from ten or from choosing which pictures to put on the mantle. But unfortunately they’re surrounded and out numbered by very elementary “roses are red violets are blue” level poems. Leav can do simplicity well, but the forced rhyming and generic themes are stifling.

I have never been an expert on poetry but having read quite a few I know enough to judge whether a piece is good or bad. This collection of poems wasn't exactly horrid but it wasn't appealing for me either. It lacked imagery and depth. And I was a bit appalled that some of the lines were haphazardly thrown together as though the words fit together like a puzzle. It was as though everything would be alright as long as the poems rhymed. I was horribly disappointed by this book.

I would give this a 3.5. I loved the artwork but didn't enjoy all the poems. I did bookmark a few but I was hoping this would live up more to all the hype.
emotional fast-paced

While by no means an extraordinary or enlightening collection of love poetry, it manages to capture real passionate love onto paper. At first the poems may seem cheap and easy, akin to what a middle-school or high-school student would write as they first encounter love. However as you go further and deeper, and really start to feel the imagery and let your imagination run with the often-times short poems, you can begin to appreciate the author's intent. I believe most of the negative perception is that a popular book with high ratings "must" be amazing and deep. While this book may not be the deep love poetry one is looking for, it definitely encapsulates something that a reader may be looking for if he/she lets it.
