definitely didn’t see that last twist coming and liked it very much but the rest of the book was very mellow and the romance was childish (yes their 17/18 but the 17/18 year olds i know don’t act like that)

My dog is mad because I read this in one sitting and have given her no attention. Also it’s a good thing I don’t use an ereader because that surprise ending nearly made me throw the book across the room.

Political thrillers are not usually my thing, but I liked this story of an 18 year old congressional intern. At times, the plot was silly. The FBI can’t do it’s own internet research? But it was fun to suspend reality for a bit and indulge this world where an 18 year old can save Washington. I would probably read a sequel, as the epilogue left me intrigued.

I'm happy to report, after the horrible My Plain Jane, not all of the Tome books are awful.

The Perfect Candidate is about a boy from a small town in California who is picked as a summer intern for his representative in DC after the first pick was deported. Attending a local JC in the fall, he doesn't really fit in with the other interns, but he's determined to make the best of his summer. But when the intern coordinator is suddenly dead in a drunk driving accident, he finds himself in a mess of scandal.

This was a page turner for sure. I read through this one super quickly and very much enjoyed it. Recommend!

The overall storyline of the book was super gripping and towards the end I just couldn’t put it down. The conclusion to the book was a massive plot twist and the epilogue was one of the best I’ve read. 6/5
