It was such an omg good story! I mean, amazing writing, really great characters and superb worldbuilding, but for some reason, the book couldn't keep me hooked :( I had to put it aside and return after reading something else a few times.
While I always appreciate a story taking its own time to unfold, it just took too long.
Now... I know this is 99% a "me-issue", but now you know why I couldn't rate it 5*.
I just finished it, so I might still write a more lengthy review later, but at the moment, I'm just pleased I finished it!
Will I read the next book... well of course! :D

This book was absolutely amazing. The world of this book is one of its own and like nothing I have read before. I absolutely love the way the world is built and there’s even a map to follow at the beginning of the book! This is an excellent start to a series I cannot wait to finish reading.

SO. GOOD.

I absolutely love RH/why choose but I swear, it’s so hard to find ones that really take the time to let the relationships and characters grow. So truly, bless you, Devyn Sinclair for this book because I’m loving the pace of this story. This is definitely a bit more on the slow burn side of romance (especially for a RH/why choose), but there are maybe three open-door scenes in the latter half that are nice. Still explicit but not of the “in-your-face” explicit type language.

This does have a few moments where things feel a little drawn out, but overall, I enjoyed the slower pace as it lets you get to know the characters better. I also enjoy the guys and am hoping we get a little more into them as characters in the next few books. They’re off to a good start here, especially Roan, so I hope we get a more in-depth look at the others. Def content warning for threatened/mentions of past SA and general violence and abuse.

An amazing book and I absolutely loved the plot. Devyn Sinclair did a phenomenal job at building a new world that I would love to get lost in. From the very beginning I had trouble putting this one down. The characters were wonderful and all the little details between Safiya and the Lorem were impeccable. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars was that I found it a bit confusing at first when learning the new world and not really getting an explanation for what certain things were.

However, at the end of the book I did realize that there was a glossary of words probably intended for that purpose. I personally could have benefited if I had known that before reading. (Such is the struggle when reading via KindleApp and not realizing by a quick flick to the back of the book haha)
