This was an enjoyable read. The world of Auadara was engaging and the varying voices of Keralie and the queens made for an interesting story.

I have ~thoughts~, namely that this book started strong and kind of fell apart at the end. I think things were wrapped up a little too nicely. That being said, I did enjoy the aspect of knowing there would be four dead queens and the anticipation that came along with it. The underlying message of not being defined by your past was also a good one. I would have enjoyed a bit more smut but, overall, an average book I think.

4.5 out of 5 stars, it was the first book I’ve read in a while and I couldn’t put it down. At first I was afraid it wouldn’t make much sense because the author choose a very tricky and confusing way of writing but she made it work very very well. I think the build up of the characters were great, Th amount of plot twists were just right, and I found the main character very relatable. Some have said she’s too childish, she’s 17, she’s supposed to be. A lot of authors try to make their 16, 17 yr old characters sound and act like an adult but the author of this book had the character act and make decisions her age. I loved the relationship between keralie and varin, my only note is it should’ve been a little more drawn out, I’m giving this a 4.5 review instead of 5 because the timeline was a bit confusing but I’m pretty sure she was trying to do that. It made all the plot twists even better. So yes read this book!!
