I absolutely enjoyed this book! I found the writing to be amusing and flawless. It was also so intriguing to take a look into Levana's life since she's such an enigmatic character.

Levana is a horrible person and I’m glad this book didn’t redeem her

“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” that was all I could think about Levana’s actions. Stars, love does make you blind. And stupid! I honestly couldn’t count how many times I rolled my eyes while reading this.

I thought this was gonna make me go “Oh, poor Levana.” but nah it made me realize how idiotic she is.

I went into this book think that my opinion of Queen Levana could not change. To so extent I was correct, but I was also wrong. This short story gave us a chance to see the person beneath the veils. We never really spend much time in her thoughts in the first 3 books, so it was nice to finally understand her a bit better. Now don't get me wrong she is still a horrible person, who has done many unspeakable things in her life time. But while I feel hate towards her I also feel pity. She did not have the best luck growing up, and her need to be love and noticed only grew. She soon became so power hungry that it eventually consumed her to do terrify things.
I personally really enjoyed this story. I liked learning about Levana, and how her part helped shape the Lunar Chronicles. I also liked getting a better look into some of the issues Earth is facing and how Lunar's created it.
All in all I really enjoyed this story and I'm glad I finally got around to picking this up. Now onto the last book!

I don't know what rating I should give this because Levana is probably the worst character I've ever read, but it was done on purpose and it was done so well. I fucking hate her. She's disgusting and clever and stupid and pretty and ingenuous and selfish and cruel and wicked and evil and I hate every inch of her character.

After all other parts this was plain immature and boring. I know Levana never was in her right mind as none of her family was, but this was even beyond any reason. I hope to gain symphaty towards her and understand her better, but this left her impression in my mind only as a silly stupid immature girl.

3.5 Stars. I like the info I got from the story. I wasn’t too excited to read Levana’s story but it did piece things together. It’s just hard to read about the villain.
