“I’ll be your wall” gah, could that be anymore perfect? Blake really embraces Mercer as he is. He meets him where he is, but he also asks for help to help Mercer. Mercer has a ton to go through and man does PTSD hit hard.
The way we were in Mercer’s mind repeatedly about his feelings was an accurate representation of the aftermath of his life. It takes a long time to not think those things, so I don’t feel like that was overdone at all.
The possessiveness was excellent, not as feral as I expected. But I think that’s good. The cum play was definitely a strong feature of the book. They were so perfectly matched sexually.
I like that Nordika didn’t make us wait to the end to rush through the most obvious conflict that there was going to be. She threw that conflict early, so she could build the rest of the story out and keep us on our toes!
Solid read. I didn’t want to put it down and I also didn’t want it to end!

Mercer, Little Demon, is my sprit animal. I absolutely love him!
Blake is the best pushover partner. Even when he doesn’t want to. He makes Mercer seen from the start (as well as loved but they weren’t smart enough to catch on that for a while). Blake give Mercer a voice.
Besides Blake and Little Demon being amazingly pushovers to each other another thing I loved in this story is Blake’s dad & brothers!
Normally stories with killers, there is a vibe of “distrust” within the family, but with the Carter’s it’s not like that. I love their bond. Bronson & Brandt are amazing brothers not only to Blake but to Mercer as well as they welcome him with open arms from the start. Laughing with him and saying hi to him, including him. Brendan loves his kids and also welcomed Mercer in. It’s so rare to see a family like that in stories (at least the ones I’ve read) and I just absolutely love it! Not only did they support Blake & Mercer, they also gave Little Demon a voice when they welcomed him into their family.
I would love to read more about this whole family.

I loved this book. We find Nordika's writing style that I love. It's funny, moving, full of action. She knows how to make us attach to her characters.
Blake and Mercey are made for each other. A needy brat and a cold but cute murderer. They complement each other and with that, lots of sexy and super funny moments. I loved jealousy games, sex games.
Nordika mixes romance, comedy and action and it always works so well!
It was just a bit too long for the story.

I had so much fun reading the book, Mercer is an absolute brat and Blake’s has the patience of a saint. I love this couples dynamic, so supportive, caring, loving and of course spicy! Never met a brat like Mercer before he is an absolute icon, love him and his character development so much!

I love a good pet name and murder in a romance so this book ticked my boxes. I also have a weird new appreciation for the sound “Mm.” Mercer coming into his own and healing (a little magic dick but lots of therapy), was a very enjoyable ride. Blake being a grumpy assassin who can’t say no to Mercer’s bratty ways was the perfect compliment to Mercer’s character. I hope we see more of the B-team.
Holy shit. What a read!!! I have literally zero complaints about this book and I can always nitpick something! Best read of 2023 for me!
