This autobiography was a stunning revelation into the life of Jennette and many other child actors. It was refreshingly open and candid on a number of powerful topics, such as family, romantic relationships, eating disorders, and the struggles of growing up in the spotlight. The discussion of these topics also gave me room to look back and reflect on my own life and things I have experienced. I was truly touched by this book and how it provided new perspectives on the realities of celebrity.

It was especially poignant to hear this book narrated by Jennette herself in the audiobook. Her voice really shines and provides a new level of insight and depth into the stories being told.

Thank you, Jennette McCurdy, for allowing us a detailed, touching look into your life. As a young woman, this was so powerful to me!

Engaging - brutally so. Several moments I had to pause and stare at the page in disbelief. Things just keep happening, but there is a lack of self-pity imbued in the author's voice.

I do think she did herself some disservice in skimming over her recovery. To continuously have to fight for your wellbeing is no small feat and it would have been nice for her to get her flowers. At least she probably does outside of the book, considering its success.

A gripping story behind a face always smiling for the camera. A very real depiction of what it can look like growing up as a child star, and growing up wirth a narcisistic parent.
I command her for being so honest about her journey and her feelings and even about the intimate things that happened to her.
