Pretty much what I expected. McCurdy is a good writer and is extremely charming and relatable.

I really enjoyed this book. As someone who grew up watching Jennette McCurdy on iCarly, it was really interesting to read about her experiences on that show and throughout her career. I loved that she wrote as if the events are happening in real time; when she was writing about her life at age 6, she wrote it as if she is 6 years old.
Reading about her experiences made me realise the trauma and abuse many people, especially young people, in the entertainment industry endure. I really felt for Jennette whilst reading this and I am so proud that she has and continues to recover.

amazing book. covers her entire life pretty much up until she starts writing the book. it was incredible. VERY easy read vocab- & language-wise, but very difficult read regarding content. HEED THE CONTENT WARNINGS. if any of the CWs trigger you, especially the ones listed “graphic,” DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. otherwise, it’s an incredible read.

lots of humor in suffering w/ a hopeful ending theme of overcoming adversity. amazingly written. i was hooked from the first page. mccurdy is an amazingly talented creative nonfiction writer (& doesn’t hurt that she’s had a life so crazy it seems like it should be fiction).

5⭐️ but i reserve actual 5⭐️ ratings on storygraph for my favorite books of all time

What a great exploration of a relationship. The author has put SO much work in and it shows. Her recalling of events throughout her entire life was really special - she's stayed connected
