She is a beautiful writer. I'm glad she found her path in life and is living in her purpose. I wish I could meet her one day, I've always thought she was so similar on ICarly. I saw her for herself and not the role she played. I wish her success in this life even more than she has achieved.

Fast, juicy read. Jennette McCurdy is a talented writer. She never minimized or hid her abuse, the way she tells it it's clear as day, yet she managed to tell her truth with humor and vivid detail, and I could picture every scene. I felt sad for Jennette but felt her resilience throughout the entire story. Overall this book deals with tough moments but is not particularly sad or dark -- still, check the trigger warnings on this one.

Great book. A very dark life story about Jennettes terrible upbringing with an extremely controlling narcisistic mother. I couldn't stop reading it. To anyone reading this book who relates to her story, please read Dr. Ramani Durasulvas books about navigating narcissism. I highly recommend them.

I always feel weird rating non-fiction books, but after listening to what Jennette McCurdy went through from the time she was 6 until her mom died is very heartbreaking and it happens so often that it seems like no one pays attention until it's too late.

I listened to Jeanette in her audiobook and it was equal parts cathartic and heart breaking. This book is fascinating and raw and I am so grateful to her for writing it. Hearing her perspective shift throughout her life and see her gain strength and understanding was beautiful and inspiring and painful.

i listened to this as an audiobook and absolutely sped through it. it was narrated by jeanette mccurdy which i really enjoyed. you can hear her progress from a child to an adult, and the change in perspective that came with it.
