Everything Mila comes out with is perfection. I’ve been eagerly awaiting Giulio’s story and this did not disappoint. The tension and chemistry between him and Alessio was scorching hot.

This was not the book I wanted it to be, but I do still enjoy an assassin story. Wanted more identity shenanigans, actual fights between assassin and target, and less instant love. But on the upside, there is a gay Mafia heir who's out, an assassin who's totally chill with killing everyone, and plenty of violence.

Mafia Target

Thank you, Valentine PR and Finelli, for the ARC for an honest review.

I think this book had a great concept and I really enjoyed both of the characters. I was highly anticipating Guilio's book because I loved hi, in the first 2 books. I think you really need to read the first 3 books before this one because it is an ongoing story. I loved the first 3 books, but this one just missed the mark a little bit for me. It took me longer to read it than usual. I just think it had a lot of instalust and it was missing that extra something. That is not to say this is lacking great character development and story. Alessio and Guilio were such amazing characters and I could feel their connection. I think I just had high expectations and I was having issues getting sucked into the story.

This is a very spicy book, and I love my MM sex scenes. There were just a lot of them. I actually fell for Alessio more than Guilio, which was a surprise. I loved him!

I am still excited to read the next book where we will get a forced marriage.

Mila Finelli (The Kings of Italy, #4)

“Ti amo, assassino.”
Bending, I pressed a soft kiss to his swollen lips. “Ti amo, Don Ravazzani.”

Alessio's never failed at a job before–until it came to Giulio Ravazzani, a man he is absolutely not supposed to want and is in fact, supposed to kill.

Tropes:
– MM Romance
– Forbidden (he's hired to kill him!)
– Mafia romance

I initially picked this up only because I wanted to read [b:Mafia Virgin|182687651|Mafia Virgin (The Kings of Italy #5)|Mila Finelli|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1699262740l/182687651._SY75_.jpg|144614330] and needed some background but holy, this was so good. I almost never (this is probably my first) see MM in mafia romance so this was amazing and refreshing to read. Seriously, so good. I loved Giulio and Alessio so much. I loved the way Alessio was obsessed, so very obsessed, that he spent months stalking Giulio instead of killing him because he literally physically was unable to bring any arm to him. It was so cute to see how much he was longing for him all while being such a deadly, ruthless assassin.

Once these two actually gave into their attraction to one another, this book was straight fire. Spice for days. I loved every single scene because it actually contributed to emotional character development and a little extra just for fun too. Also, they didn't hide how much they were feeling for one another, which I loved. I was so surprised when that "Ti amo" fell out of Alessio's lips so easily after that scene on the boat, but seeing how Giulio just softened and said it back like it was so obvious, so easy, so elemental to love him back was everything.

They were just the sweetest couple–I was not expecting this at all–with hidden domesticity. Giulio with his cooking skills and affinity for giving orders and Alessio who did everything, anything that Giulio asked of him and groveled like a pro when the time came. The best part for me was the nicknames, which made me giggle and kick my feet every single time Giulio said amore and Alessio said prinicipe like how cute!!! They were precious.

This was so good, so good, so. frickin. good. I loved everything about their relationship. I'm excited to read [b:Mafia Virgin|182687651|Mafia Virgin (The Kings of Italy #5)|Mila Finelli|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1699262740l/182687651._SY75_.jpg|144614330] because those tropes are *chefs kiss*.

This is the long awaited 4th book in the Kings of Italy series and it did not disappoint! I've been curious about Giulio's story since book 1 and this was everything I was hoping for! This is the first MM mafia romance I've loved!

If you haven't read the first 3 books in the series, I definitely recommend reading those first just to truly appreciate this story. Giulio is the eldest son of Don Fausto Ravazzani and is the rightful heir. When Fausto finds out that Giulio is gay, things become complicated because the mafia is not accepting of anything that is "non-traditional". Because Giulio doesn't want to hide his sexuality anymore, he decides its best if he denounces being the heir and leaves to go on his own journey. However, Giulio soon realizes his journey is filled with his father's enemies coming after him.

Enter Alessio who is the notorious assassin that is hired to take out the hit on Giulio. He follows him, learns his habits, but can't seem to follow through with his job. One spicy encounter in a night club between them wasn't enough and Alessio decides to keep watching him instead of taking out his target. It isn't until they decide to act on their desires on a remote island that things get complicated.

I adored Alessio and Giulio together! The angst, chemistry and spice were top tier! We also get some Fausto and Frankie cameos which I loved. I was intrigued by some of the side characters as well and hope we find out what happens with Nikolai and Theo as well as Sasha in the future. Overall, I'm obsessed with this book and series and cannot recommend it enough!
