No idea that one of my favorite romance authors Joanna Shupe is the new mafia queen As Milia Finelli. This mafia series is dark. It’s edgy. It’s extremely erotic. Definitely a must read if you love dark mafia series. This is the fourth installation of the king of Italy series. And follows our favorite son Giulio and his love interest, Alessio. Spoiler, spoiler Alicia is an assassin hired Guilio. These two are electric they play this cat and mouse game that is totally up my alley. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat to see what happens next. I can’t wait to see what Mila has in store for us and her next book.

This one is not as good as the others, I had such high hopes given how much I loved them but this one didn’t hit the mark. Given my usual enjoyment of MM romances this was a bit surprising. The story show promise and the characters are okay but I didn’t believe in the romance and the third act break up made it worse for me. I’m hoping the next one will be back on track.

Sweet baby Alessio deserves the entire world!!

I really really enjoyed this book! I will admit that I did not think I was going to love it as much as I did because in my head there was no topping book three and the relationship of Gia and Enzo. And although Alessio and Guilio did not beat them, I really loved them anyway.

I was surprised at how sweet this one was compared to the rest of the series. Despite it being about a man having a sniper try to kill him repeatedly, there was something about the two of them that had me swooning right away.

The spice was, as always with Finelli’s books, absolutely amazing. I always love her balance of plot and spice and this one did not disappoint.

While it was not my favorite book in the series, it was still amazing!

4.5 stars.
