Heartbreaking but a fascinating  story about the treatment of women during the Victorian era.

I despised 99% of the characters but it was a good read. Tess deserved better

It was such a struggle reading this due to my reading level, but it’s so powerful and so heart breaking as a young woman to return to and reread after studying it in school. Its rare I like books written by men about women and I know Thomas Hardy is a grey area, but Tess is one of my favourite labours of love.

I can't believe I remained largely spoiler free for this book. But, I did enjoy it... if that's the right word for it. All in all, I would revisit it again. A solid read.
