Cow Boy features a main story as well as a few extra short stories throughout the book. The main storyline highlights a young child who's on the lookout to bring vigilantes to justice. The short stories are more like little graphic novel commercials.

All in all, the collection was amusing. I would recommend it to middle readers, teens, or adults. I think adults will appreciate the humor more than tweens or teens.

Reviewed from a NetGalley copy. Thank you, Diamond Book Distributors!

Another one from my big King's Day haul! In this book we meet a 10-year old boy who is dedicated to getting his family members (all criminals) in jail. Yep. Everyone of them. From his dad, who he saves out of prison to throw into prison and get the nice bounty to his brother. It was hilarious, especially since everyone expects him to be just a little boy, but he has big wits about him and makes the best of the situation. I love how mature he was and how at times I thought of him more of an adult in small-sized form. XD We do learn a bit more about his past, and I frankly don't blame him for what he is doing. The art was quite fun! At times I wondered if this was all play and that we would see some non-western scenes, but no this is really all true. I am so happy I found this one~

"Justice ain't got no age."

Ten year old Boyd is a bounty hunter trying to make things right- just him and his horse, Cee Cee.

This book is beautiful, I loved the story and the extra short stories within the book. A great read!

Definitely deserves a second volume! The story's not done yet, but what's there is extremely well done. Good writing, good art, good book.

Odd mixture. Western with a childhood flair. Very reminiscent of Calvin & Hobbes. Light violence and sideways mention of a brothel.

It's cute, but that wasn't enough for me. The contrast between the cuteness and the emotional heft was jarring.

Pretty good all ages book with shades of Calvin and Hobbes and plenty of pathos. Going after his own family is a pretty powerful theme that can expanded in future volumes, but worked just fine here. Surprisingly charming.

Cow Boy is a wonderful graphic novel for any age. I know I know the age old saying that something is fun for all ages, but this story has humor for both a child and a deeper storyline for any adult to appreciate.
The story starts off with a little boy who takes down criminals and collects the bounty with the help of his trusty steed shotgun. We follow him on a very unlikely journey that takes place over five chapters, with small comics in-between following the western theme.
I will say that the overall piece is wonderful to read and to look at. The artwork is beautiful and fun with some great textures to give the work a sense of dimension.
This is something that I would recommend to any parent looking for something to share with their child, and even that twenty thirty somethings that likes to take a break away from reality if only for a moment.

This book will come out in March 2013, and will be in comic book stores in April 2013
