Time travel is fascinating and every author comes up with a unique method for how it works. In this series Higley has invented a whole group of time travelers, and among other things they can go several layers deep into time (similar to the movie Inception).
This complexity allows for interesting drama, heightened by the fact that the main character has to figure it all out from scratch.
As with any Higley book, setting plays a big part and this story was no exception. I enjoyed the dual views the story offered, showing the same place in both ancient Egypt and in the 1920s when Carter discovered King Tut's tomb.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series to see whether Sahara succeeds in reuniting with her family and foiling their nemesis.
