Another enjoyable short story in the world of the Bound and the Broken. This features an even more in depth focus on Aeson and his purpose as a Rakina. Certainly, his sons play a large part in this story as well. There is some predictable plot armor given this is a prequel of sorts but I still enjoyed the development of the featured characters. The story itself was a little random for what happens in the Ice but doesn't take away from everything the series has accomplished. quick read that serves as a nice teaser before book 4 comes out next year. Can't wait.

I know this novella was published after the third novel in the series, but since it’s a prequel, I read it first anyway.

Brilliant work from Cahill. I am glad that I got the chance to be with Aeson in his search for the egg. Although a short book, it deepened the world of Epheria. Deservedly my favorite ongoing series
