Comovente, magistral.

great read
this was a fantastic book to read.it was very emotional in some places and brought me nearly to tears. we must never forget the sins of our forefathers and the suffering there cause so many people. please read this book.now lts read something about the comfort women who are so ignored and looked down upon.

I have found myself more and more intrigued with the Korean experience. Each book adds another layer to my appreciation of the struggle and heartache that so many Koreans have experienced in the last 100 years. These graphics are amazing works of art and the expansive stories build empathy.

Powerful and moving, this fictionalized account of families separated between North and South Korea is strikingly illustrated. The black and white images capture the setting, passage of time, and the stark differences between war, the refugee experience, and modern life. Gendry-Kim's notes at the end of the work provide even more insight into the separations experienced by many Korean families.

A very short comic on a fictional story based on real life experiences of Korean families split after the war. Even if short it really moves you. Only criticism I have is I wish it was longer and delved deeper into the stories it shares.
