"A good ghost story gets told...and retold. It's in the telling where the tale takes on a life of its own. A ghost story grows. It exists on the breath of those who tell it."

4.5⭐

I had so much fun reading The Remaking! This book has so many things I love - horror movies, ghost stories, true crime podcasts, and a spooky setting. The cover is eye-catching, and I was hooked on the story immediately.

This story is told in 4 different sections - the original ghost story, the filming of the movie about the ghost story, the filming of the remake, and then several years after the remake. This was such an entertaining format, and I really loved reading this story.

The only reason this doesn't have a full 5⭐ review is because the ending was a little too confusing / vague for my taste. I went back over it a couple times, and still wasn't entirely sure what had happened. It was still such an enjoyable read, though, and I definitely recommend this book.

4.5 Stars!
There are so many reasons why I enjoyed this book! The author does a really good job of tying together all four parts of the book. I love the repetition used throughout the book; for me, it added to the psychological thrill. I could gush about the specific moments I loved, but I don't want to spoil the reveals for anyone :). Listen to it! Or read it! I recommend this book; especially for spooky Halloween reading.

Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live
I really enjoyed this book! Not only is it a great creep witchy story, I really loved its commentary on how we treat the women of horror.
I think this has a really great parallel to what fans demand from our Scream Queens, Final Girls. How many of them get trapped into their rolls, who we don’t let age, move on or escape our favourite Films.

While its not all horror fan commentary, Chapman also weaves are captivating and creepy ghost story, and honestly who doesn’t love a good ghost story told around campfires?

If your looking for a good witching and haunting I would highly recommend this one

now it's no Whisper Down The Lane , but Clay is a brilliant writer .

Spooky yet campy , beautifully written yet self referential in only the best ways , and interesting and quick yet somehow a slow burn .

the odd time warp effect was a fun twist towards the end of a seemingly cut and dry ghost story , but wasn't needed to keep me invested .

Final Girl Support Group had similar intentions, but Clay is a man who actually knows how to write women and POC .

i loved the vibes of this one . Amber and Jessica will be with me for a while .
