thank you so so much to Penguin Teen for the physical advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!!

oh my god the way i dramatically gasped and had to close the book for a solid minute to process THE LAST LINE. fans of renee's other books: you guys are in for a treat.

i loved this book. i loved the characters. the characters, especially pippa and arjun, really just made this book for me. as soon as i found out this book was going to follow pippa and arjun, i just knew i was going to love it. and i did.

those two- please i would literally die for both of them. i adore pippa: her quiet courage, her random facts, her unexpected humor, and hows she's just such a genuinely good, sweet person. arjun, my love. literal love of my life right here. his wit, his protectiveness, his sarcasm, his loyalty, how he makes parathas for pippa (!!) and emphasizes how colonialism does not suddenly make him an englishman. such important conversations, and thank god they did not shy away.

THE ROMANCE BETWEEN THEM OH MY GODDD i was grinning and screaming and swooning and giggling like an idiot with their every interaction. some of the scenes they had together.... literally kill me, they were too good. the banter and angst and all the feels- it is worth it i promise. its everything i could have hoped for and more for the relationship.

ONE BED TROPE !!! FAKE MARRIAGE TROPE !!! (NOT TOXIC) JEALOUSY TROPE ?!?

the few complaints i have are somewhat minor but they bugged me more and more as the book went on, thus the 4 stars instead of 5. up until around 50%, it was a definite 5 stars for me. everything was going perfectly. but then new plot points and new characters and then old, forgotten plot points and old, forgotten characters just kept getting brought up and it was getting more and more confusing. i found myself skimming so many of the chapters because they just seemed to be relaying the same, boring information or they had too much new information that i just couldn't keep up with. the pacing was just so off; the last couple of pages were a complete rollercoaster of too many things happening at once, while for the entire second half of the book, it felt like not much important happened. im not really sure how to say it, but this book just felt incomplete. its almost like nothing really happened in terms of plot, and im not sure how i feel.

the second very minor complaint might just be a personal preference, but the slight instalove... it was a little sudden, don't you think? ok to be fair, as much as i love the author, she does have a tendency to just have a very fast-paced, sudden relationship almost pop out of nowhere- basically instalove is in every one of her books. as i said before, i obviously still completely adore pippa and arjun, but i wish they had a little more time to just get to know each other instead of literally two days before they got all mushy and in love.

i read this book incredibly fast and i did overall really enjoy the righteous, and i CANNOT WAIT for the next one!

I did like this book better than the last one, but I was surprised it was about Pippa and Arjun in the land of the Fae. The overall story has taken a left turn from New Orleans and vampires, but I'm kind of okay with it.
So Arjun is looking for a healer and Pippa is looking for Celine. I liked their slow-burn romance and their overall character arcs. The Fae things seem a bit out there for me, but I did like the incorporation of a character from The Wrath and The Dawn. Curious to see where this goes next.

What, just what. I am speechless. Idk how to feel at the end. It’s my babies son crossed with Celene or whatever who’s being a bit close minded but what. I really hope my guy isn’t stressing out his parents , their love story is unbeatable in my opinion

Everything in this book was fabulous and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved Arjun's and Pippa's characters being developed. THE ENDING MADE ME FALL DOWN!

So this book being the newest in this series, I really liked it. I will say it was cool to see the pov from two side characters than our main ones. Again I need to read the next one to know what happens so let's say I'm hucked on this series in the best way!! And like I have said before with this series if you liked the first and or second book keep going because this one was still really good! I will say that this book was my least favorite out of the three, but again still enjoyed it! -Till next time!!
