It's a very good book that reads like a YA while dealing with quite some heavy stuff.
I went into it knowing nothing and kind of predicted quite a bit of the storyline, but liked the tenaciousness of the main character.
It is simply written, has some good and witty dialogue but gut punches you a few times.
 Check the trigger warnings!!

I went into this having some, not very good, preconceptions about Colleen. I've seen as much hate as love online about this author, so I hate to say I believed blindly her writing would suck. I was very pleasantly surprised by this. The writing itself was choppy and very cringe for the first 20% or so, but it found its rhythm and became gripping and sensitive. I also expected this to be extremely smutty, mostly due to booktok, but coming into this after an Elsie Silver book, the sex was much more tolerable. I don't love a sex scene in a book still, but did find I enjoyed parts of these.
I loved many characters, Atlas, Lily and Alyssa and loved and hated Ryle in equal parts. I think the ending was perfect for these characters
All in all, I'd read more Colleen Hoover in the future. This one may be worth the hype

Ok, this book was WEIRD. First off, the main girl has an OBSESSION with Ellen. Like, 40% of the book is talking about how she watched the Ellen show everyday after school, how she knows all the skits, how Ellen dances in the aisles, and how much she loved Ellen. It's unsettling. It's technically a romance, but she's a pick me girl who turns into a victim of parental and domestic abuse. It's horrible, and so sad. It's violent, and complicated. I refuse to read any more Colleen Hoover books, because it's poorly written.

look CoHo gets a lot of hate but from my perspective i see this as a way to show that you can get through abuse. it shows how love will make you do anything but that there’s people out there who are there. it can be comforting but also heart wrenching.
