I wanted more tales, less commentary.

I'm always fascinated by such stories being created by authors in their created worlds. So this book was a joy to read after finishing the whole Harry Potter series. And the illustrations are absolutely beautiful adding that magical feeling to the tales.

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? It's complicated

Bought this ages ago when it first came out, but never actually read it. But I stopped reading the Deathly Hallows when Hermione starts reading the story, and read the book for myself. It was a fun quick read and I think it does add a little to reading the Deathly Hallows. (Also, I did not realize that it includes "commentary" from Dumbledore -- I thought it was just going to be the fairy tales. I might have read it sooner if I'd known that.)

Wanted more of the stories rather than the commentary and footnotes. Nonetheless, the audiobook readers have done a great job.
