A solid account of the battle for Malaysia and Singapore during the Second World War. The book contains interesting information about the experiences of those who lived and fought in the campaign. The contemporary attitudes of those who lived in this time-period is particularly interesting when read in modern times.

The only drawback of the book aside from its age is the moderate imbalance in discussion of the Japanese side of the conflict compared to the British.
