I love that we got a bi male lead 🩷💙🩷💙
The story kind of dragged at the end, and the third act conflict was super predictable, but overall I liked it!

This is a fun, snappy enemies-to-lovers romance about Cherisse, a Trinidadian pastry chef and dessert expert trying to take her business to the next level and Keiran, a music producer, who enjoys riling Cherisse up.
I liked the slow-build up between the two leads and thought the pacing was pretty spot on for a dislike-to-like romance. I'm always a fan of books where the main characters have known each other since childhood, so I enjoyed the additional layer this added to Cherisse and Keiran's story. I felt like a bit of chemistry was lacking at times, but the other parts of the story made up for this. I was also a big fan of the fact that Keiran is bi, because I haven't read many other romances where just the male lead is queer, so it was a new dynamic for me.
I really liked Cherisse's group of friends; their tight-knit bond and the way they all looked out for each other was so enjoyable to read. I also LOVED all the discussions of food and found myself getting very hungry while listening to this. All in all a very easy-to-listen-to, entertaining read.
Content warnings for infidelity and cheating, violence (fighting).

3.5, extremely sweet contemporary romance, loved the baking, there’s tons of cultural references and music, forced interactions, and a scene with one of the MCs is sick which I’m always a sucker for. Only reason why this wasn’t higher is because I felt like there were some open conversations that could have been had with the hero’s father and the heroine’s mother. And also, the reasoning for why they originally hated each other was pretty weak and then when they develop feelings for each other they don’t discuss HOW DUMB they both were for “hating each other.”rorikae's review against another edition

Cherisse is an up and coming baker whose mother is constantly trying to set her up. Kieran works in the music industry and has known Cherisse since they were young. The two have never quite been fans of the other but when they are asked to be maid of honor and best man at Cherisse's sister's wedding, they have to work together. What starts out as frustration, slowly begins to morph into something more as they learn more about each other.
'Sweethand' is such a cute romance. Cherisse and Kieran are both instantly likable and yet Peltier does a great job of making you believe their dislike for each other. Both characters are flawed but at their core, they are incredibly sweet and as they begin to see this in each other they begin to open up. The forced proximity of having to work together on a combined bachelor and bachelorette party is the perfect catalyst for them to butt heads but learn that there could be something more between them. The one downside to the story was the last minute tension that sprung up at the end. This plot point was pretty obvious from the beginning and it came a little too late in the story for it to be fully explored. Even so, this is a great romance full of tasty baked goods and some heat. I can't wait to read what N.G. Peltier writes next.
