These were a lot of fun, and it is cool that the author assembled them into an e-book. It is pretty awesome seeing some of the pivotal moments of the series from Curran's POV.

Oh it's wonderful reading Curran's view. He's such a perfect match for Kate it's unreal. I love Curran's banter with Kate. He has me constant smiling while reading them again, and from Curran's POV, just as brilliant.

This is definitely a collection to read AFTER the books. It's wonderful to go back and read these and remember. Actually, it makes me want to go back and re-read the series as I loved it that much.

Each book has a Curran view here:
Magic Bites:
When Curran first meets Kate in Unicorn Lane. He knew some of Kate from Jim, as Jim works with her and strange as he's a cat and works alone or with a few from Pack.

I still full smile at the "Kitty, kitty, kitty" call from Kate. And Curran's reaction! LOL! This is the Beast Lords first impression of Kate.

Magic Burns:
When Curran brought Kate to the South East office to be healed, from slashes on her back and the poison.

Curran seems to realize his feelings and knows Exactly what he was doing with the soup. These two are a pair!

Magic Strikes:
Curran pieces together why key members of his pack have gone rogue and who's at the lead while in the Loupe cage.

Oh what Curran calls Kate! LOLOL! He always has choice words in his mind about his love. But we get to see Curran's chat with Julie before she lets him out. Gods that girl is quick, smart and so good. I do love her. Curran sees the alpha in Kate and notes it to himself here.

Magic Bleeds:
The meeting of Alphas and The People when Curran sees Kate all dolled up...and with Saiman.

Oh, oh, oh! I was hoping for this POV from Curran. That is all I can say. But this is the thoughts running through his head at that moment, before he gets called back to the meeting.

Then there is a teaser of the first chapter for Magic Strikes here as well.

Curran covers books 1 through 4. I read each snipet from Curran after reading the "official" scene and it was fun and interesting to get Curran's point of view.

There are also 2 snippets included that take place in between Magic Strikes and Magic Bleeds. One has to do with Jim putting together the pieces of Kate's history after the "sword incident" and sharing her origins with Curran. It's also interesting because when Kate shares her history with him in Magic Bleeds - the reader is aware that he is already aware of it - but he appreciates knowing that she trusts him enough to tell him. The second snippet is the story of events that transpired that made Curran late for dinner. Without this story, the reader goes into Magic Bleeds thinking as Kate does that Curran stood her up intentionally.

The final snippets come from Magic Bleeds; 1 is a re-telling and the other takes place after the story ends and provides additional details. In Magic Bleeds the council scene ended with Curran saying "Explain yourselves" - and my thought was "here? you're ending here? I want to hear them explain themselves"!!!! So in the added snippet you get to hear more from the council meeting and Curran's handling of what he perceives to be Mahon's betrayal.

Writing Curran's POV and making it available for free was a very thoughtful and generous gesture on the part of the authors; and it is very much appreciated.

A tiny yet enjoyable little tidbit. I liked it but considering that it didn't exactly add anything to the original story, just told it from a different point of view, I didn't rate it as highly. Still recommended for any Kate Daniels fans. :)

I appreciate the rounding out of the story, but IA's writing is much stronger.

It seems I had forgotten to ever write a review so I read these stories again :)

The first one will be my fav as it takes place at their first meeting and Kate says the famous first words, Here Kitty kitty.

And of course I did love the chicken-soup scene from his perspective and how he felt when he saw her and Saiman. All goof stuff.

A great companion to the Kate Daniel books and who would not like Curran's POV

If you are a fan of the Kate Daniel's series (and why wouldn't you be?) then this set of short retellings told from Curran's point of view will be interesting. I will say, however, they did not provide much more insight than the regular full length books, nor were they written as well as the novels. So, if you can't find them readily and cheaply (as in free) then I wouldn't bother.
