This was my last thriller for the year 2019.
The story starts where the police are called upon a mansion where they locate a crying child and three rotten bodies. The identity of the child and story at that point begins unfurling. The story starts from three characters and afterward gradually begins twinning together. The infant acquires the house after she turns 25 and now she is on a journey to discover precisely what occurred in the mansion 25 years prior.
As this book was recorded among the star picks in my library, I had high expectations from it and it most likely didn't disappoint me.
The first narrator of the book is the baby who when turns 25 learns that she has inherited a huge mansion and needs to come and do the paperwork. The second narrator is a boy who used to once live in the mansion and has been a witness to how some strange people came to live in the mansion years earlier and destroyed his family totally. The third narrator is a mother who is living on the streets with two kids and wants to go back to the mansion desperately.
This book has every one of the charms that a spine chiller ought to have alongside its creepiness. It has a homicide puzzle, tension, suspicions, and has the clique cult culture in it. Introductory sections were a little befuddling for me however then I was snared to it.
I cherished the way Lisa the writer, attempts to give the readers the kind of tension in little pieces and some extremely erratic scenes. Basically if the thriller scenes are unsurprising, at that point I lose the preference for that book. But this book will keep you all hooked up.
All the characters are well developed and the ending of the book leaves you with satisfaction on a few points. Though the cult section is included in the book it is not unraveled on a more detailed scale. Overall the focus was mainly on the twisted relationships between the characters.

Started with 3 perspectives. The past, that I loved, and 2 present that were average. It took a bit for the story to captivate me. But the last chaptesr and THAT endding were worth it.
From all the characters Henry is the most complex, in depth analysed and just fascinating.
