After 'A Column of Fire' taking around a month, I needed something that I could breeze through. The Family Upstairs is a twisty-turny thriller, full of all those lovely things that make a thriller suspenseful and unputdownable. To start, you have an unreliable narrator, several points of view and the past catching up with the present day. I really liked the different points of view and I could picture each character clearly in my head. I didn't guess at how they were linked together until near the end and in any case, the surprises kept on coming. I longed to find out what happened in that fateful house and I wasn't disappointed. I highly recommend if you're in the mood for a shock.

I really really enjoyed this book! Such a great crime/thriller, so many twists and turns! You finally think you know what’s going on and then BAM another twist! I love the eerie ness and the creepy moments! Would definitely recommend! Can’t wait to read the 2nd book!

I've read one other Lisa Jewell book and it was AMAZING. I was more than a little disappointed by this one. There's no mystery.... Just. A sad depressing story. The end leaves you wanting.
This book was slow to get into but I read the last 80% percent in like two hours. It was creepy but interesting. I did originally have trouble figuring out who all the characters were until about chapter 20.
